President Obama signs tax-cut bill

President Obama has signed an $858 billion tax cut package, the most significant tax bill in nearly a decade. The legislation blocks a Jan. 1 spike in income taxes for millions and renews jobless benefits for those affected by the worst recession in 80 years. However, many in Obama's own party are angry about the compromise, which extends for two years Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. /Washington Post
