Homer came out on top

Celebrating its twentieth anniversary, Entertainment Weekly's writers and editors ranked the 100 greatest television and movie characters of the past 20 years in the new issue on newsstands now. Homer Simpson, that doughnut-eating nuclear power plant worker from Fox that audience have loved for years, came out on top. "People relate to Homer because we're all secretly propelled by desires we can't admit to," Matt Groening, Simpson's creator, said. "Homer is launching himself head-first into every single impulsive thought that occurs to him. His love of whatever has caught his eye is a joy to witness." /The New York Post

Avd. Förkovran i engelska.
Ordet "audience" = "publik" ("auditorium"). Engelskans "auditorium" betyder "hörsal", "föreläsningssal", "teatersalong" och kan inte användas om publiken, "auditoriet" vilket heter "the audience".
Engelskans "public" motsvarar bara delvis svenskans "publik". "The public" betyder "allmänheten".
