’12 Years a Slave’ Wins Award for Top Drama at Golden Globes



“12 Years a Slave” won the award for best motion picture, drama, at the Golden Globes on Sunday evening. Other winners included Matthew McConaughey as best actor in a drama for his role in “Dallas Buyers Club,” while Cate Blanchett won best actress in a drama for “Blue Jasmine.”
“American Hustle” emerged as a big winner, with Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams both picking up trophies for their acting and the film taking the prize for best comedy. But it was the television categories that gave the 71st annual ceremony its drama.
