Nu är årets seminarieprogram presenterat!

Gunilla Sandin, programchef Bokmässan, presenterar årets seminarieprogram.
2012 är ett nordiskt år på Bokmässan, 27-30 september. Ett 60-tal av de mest framstående författarna från våra nordiska grannländer gästar årets mässa – som dessutom kommer att få Nobelglans! Totalt består årets seminarieprogram av inte mindre än 398 seminarier med 810 medverkande från 22 länder.

"Vad är Norden?" är en fråga som kommer att genomsyra flera av de seminarier som arrangeras av Nordiska ministerrådet och Nordiska rådet, Bokmässans huvudsakliga samarbetspartner kring årets nordiska tema.
Författare från alla de nordiska länderna sätter sin tydliga prägel på Bokmässans seminarieprogram. Från Danmark kommer bland andra Suzanne Brøgger, Hanne-Vibeke Holst och Jesper Juul. Från Finland kommer bland andra Claes Andersson, Linda Bondestam och Monika Fagerholm, från Färöarna Carl Jóhan Jensen, och från Grönland Julie Edel Hardenberg. Från Island kommer Steinunn Sigurðardóttir och Sjón och sist men inte minst från Norge: Per Arne Dahl, Erlend Loe och Anne B. Ragde – med många flera!

Dessutom medverkar hundratals svenska författare i programmet, däribland Gunilla Bergström, Jonas Gardell, Jan Guillou och Agneta Pleijel.

Bokmässan invigs officiellt av den norska författaren Merethe Lindstrøm, årets mottagare av Nordiska rådets litteraturpris.
Röster från Irland I år får mässans besökare även höra många röster från Irland. Ireland Literary Exchange och Irlands ambassad arrangerar sju seminarier med flera av landets främsta samtida författare.
Röster från andra delar av världen Årets mest långväga gäst på mässan är tveklöst australiern Christos Tsiolkas, som med sin bästsäljare Örfilen skapat en färgstark fresk över det australiensiska samhället med alla dess inneboende motsättningar. Claudia Piñeiro, journalist, manusförfattare och författare från Argentina, tar sig i sin roman Torsdagsänkorna in bakom murarna till ett exklusivt bostadsområde och skildrar ett samhälle på väg att falla samman inifrån. Anna Arutunyan, rysk statsvetare och politisk reporter på Moscow News, är aktuell med en mycket kritisk Putinskildring Tsar Putin, som utkommer i tio länder samtidigt. Den mycket uppmärksammade fransk-colombianska politikern Ingrid Betancourt skriver i boken Även tystnaden har ett slut om sina erfarenheter från åren i fångenskap hos FARC-gerillan i Colombia.
Nobelglans
Till sist, den störste av dem alla – Tomas Tranströmer! Den svenske Nobelpristagaren i litteratur kommer till mässan, där han bland annat hedras med en fotoutställning, ett seminarium och en daglig programpunkt på Se människan-scenen kl 13.00.

Vid Lundin Petroleums stämma den 10 maj uppmanade vd:n Ashley Heppenstall aktieägare som inte litade på företagets ledning att sälja sina aktier. "Vi vill ha en solid grupp med långsiktiga svenska institutioner, men om de inte litar på ledningen skall de sälja sina aktier".
Nu säljer Folksam alla sina aktier i företaget. Mr Heppenstall, vi vill i vårt land ha företag med ledningar som vi kan lita på; inte företagsledningar av skumma typen Lundin Petroleum.

Sundsvalls slalombacke i dag


Fotograferat i kväll genom mitt köksfönster. Längst upp syns en del av Sundsvalls fina slalombacke. Observera den vita fläcken = snö kvar den 30 maj, om än lite. Att det fortfarande finns snö kvar beror på att man packade snön inkl konstditon ovanligt mycket i vintras. Förra året var backen vitafläckfri i början av maj.

Grammy-winning folk musician Doc Watson dies at 89 in N.C.


The manager of Grammy-winning folk musician Doc Watson says the artist has died at the age of 89. Watson was known as a master flatpicker whose fingers raced at speeds that could intimidate other musicians. The blind musician also sang and played other instruments. /Washington Post
