President Obama, speaking at a memorial service for victims of the Newtown, Conn., shooting, vowed to prevent the sort of violence that tore through the elementary school last week, saying, "We can't tolerate this anymore.""Can we honestly say that we're doing enough to keep our children, all of them, safe from harm?" Obama said. "If we're honest with ourselves, the answer's no. We're not doing enough, and we will have to change."
Obama did not offer specific policy proposals or legislative steps. But his remarks suggested he would pursue some sort of gun control.
