California jobless rate falls to 9.8%

California's unemployment rate fell to 9.8% in November, the lowest in almost four years, even as employers shed 3,800 jobs, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said today.
Four industries lost jobs, including educational and health services, manufacturing, and professional and business services. Jobs gains were recorded in four sectors including trade, transportation and utilities, and leisure and hospitality.
