1818 Australia's first lighthouse, South Head, Sydney.
1888 Tamworth, NSW, first town in Sthn Hemisphere to be lit by electricity.
1893 Tesla patents radio controlled vehicle.
1895 Roentgen discovers x-rays.
1897 Marconi transmits ship to shore 18 miles.
1899 First US radio company incorporated in Prescott, Arizona.
1902 First helicopter to carry a man rises 2 metres, Lisieux, France.
1918 Armistice Day-WW I ends (at 11 AM on Western Front)
1919 Ross & Smith start a 1 month flight from London to Sydney.
1923 Broadcasting starts in OZ (Denmark) by 2BL (2SB) with a concert on the evening.
