Headed Uphill!




Expedition 38/39 Soyuz Commander Mikhail Tyurin of the Russian Federal Space Agency, Flight Engineer Rick Mastracchio of NASA and Flight Engineer Koichi Wakata of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency launched on the Russian Soyuz TMA-11M spacecraft on Nov. 7, Kazakh time (Nov. 6, U.S. time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan to begin a six-hour journey to the International Space Station. Stowed in the Soyuz was the Olympic torch for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, that will spend four days on the station.
