The 2012 vice-presidential debate

The 2012 vice-presidential debate, hosted by Centre College in Danville, Ky., opened with a question for Vice President Joe Biden on the recent attacks in Libya that killed ambassador Christopher Stevens. Moderator Martha Raddatz planned to keep the focus on domestic and foreign policy for the full 90 minutes. The Washington Post has live video coverage on Mobile Web, desktop or iPad, accompanied by real-time analysis, fact checking and instant reaction from readers to candidates' remarks.

11:03PM EST October 11. 2012 - DANVILLE, Ky. -- Vice President Biden and Republican challenger Paul Ryan went after each other -- and their running mates -- tonight in an intense 90-minute debate that covered war, peace, and jobs.
Biden, much more aggressive than President Obama in his debate against Mitt Romney last week, said the administration has revived the economy and kept its promises to wind down wars overseas. He blasted Romney's plans, saying they would plunge the nation back into recession and foster instability overseas.
