The Olympics are coming to the UK soon – in just 12 days. The Olympic Village officially opens tomorrow, the Olympic motorway lanes are being imposed and the athletes are arriving. The former to ease the latter I assume. But the row over the promised security - or lack of it - continues. London 2012 chairman Lord Coe insisted there's no compromise, the government says the contingency plan for extra troops is in place and opposition politicians say it’s an untimely mess.
