'The Artist' named best film of 2011 by the New York Film Critics Circle

The New York Film Critics Circle voted Tuesday morning for the black-and-white silent film "The Artist," and its director Michel Hazanavicius took the directing honor for the valentine to silent cinema.
Meryl Streep was named best actress for "The Iron Lady," and Brad Pitt took best actor for both "Moneyball" and "Tree of Life."

Bérénice Bejo (born July 7, 1976) is a French actress, known for her role of Christiana in the 2001 film, A Knight's Tale. Bejo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Argentine filmmaker Miguel Bejo. At age 3, she moved to France where she started her acting career. In 2001, she entered America's big screen by performing in A Knight's Tale, and in 2002's 24 Hours in the Life of a Woman. She is set to star in the French psychological thriller Proie.
Bejo has supported Lionel Jospin's 2002 presidential campaign. She is married to director Michel Hazanavicius.
