Republicans win control of House, Democrats keep control of Senate (som väntat)

Riding a wave of popular anger over a sluggish economic recovery and disappointment with Democratic policies, Republicans win control of the House of Representatives.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (bilden), a favorite target of Republicans, will lose the speaker's gavel. < -- (: She will likely be replaced by Minority Leader John A. Boehner (bilden) of Ohio, whose majority will be far more conservative than in past years.
Meanwhile, the GOP took away a number of Senate seats, but Democrats will maintain control. Democrats held a 60-vote supermajority as late as January, but Republicans nearly erased the changes in the 2006 and 2008 elections, when Democrats gained a combined 14 seats. / Los Angeles Times - Nov. 2, 2010 9:18 p.m.
