Tyskland till final
Holders Germany scored two late goals to beat Romania 4-2 and reach the European Under-21 Championship final.
Nadiem Amiri's low 20-yard finish gave Germany the lead but two goals by George Puscas earned Romania a 2-1 half-time lead in Bologna.
Puscas levelled with a penalty, awarded after a video assistant referee check, before heading his country ahead.
Luca Waldschmidt's penalty made it 2-2 before he put Germany ahead in the 90th minute, Amiri adding the fourth.
Romania, who finished with 10 men after Alex Pascanu was sent off in the closing moments, have been a revelation at this tournament, beating both England and Croatia, and looked on course for a shock before Germany fought back to make the final.
The game was played in extreme heat in Italy and was stopped four times to allow players from both sides to have water breaks.
Forward Lukas Nmecha, who played in the Championship for Preston on loan from Manchester City in 2018-19, came on as a substitute for Germany.
Germany will meet Spain in the final in Udine on Sunday (19:45 BST) after they beat France 4-1./BBC

Ledare för Al-Azhar döms för grova ekobrott (låt oss se upp för mus....r)
Grundaren av den muslimska friskolekoncernen Al-Azhars ägarstiftelse döms till fängelse i 4,5 år för grov trolöshet mot huvudman, grovt bokföringsbrott och grovt penningtvättsbrott. Det rapporterar TT.
Ytterligare tre företrädare döms samtidigt till fängelse i drygt två år vardera för bland annat grovt skyddande av brottsling och grovt bokföringsbrott.
Grundaren ska enligt domen ha fört över tio miljoner kronor från stiftelsen till ett planerat bankprojekt – Sveriges första räntefria islamiska bank. Uttagen ska enligt domstolen inte ha varit förenliga med stiftelsens ändamål som är att bedriva skolverksamhet.

Grattis Italien, grattis idrottsvänner och grattis förlorande Sverige
Man skulle vilja säga: Grattis, Stockholm! Ni slapp arrangera vinter-OS och paralympics 2026. Man varför slå på en som redan ligger?
Det är lätt att förstå besvikelse hos Sveriges olympiska kommitté (SOK) som entusiastiskt kämpat för att få de olympiska vinterspelen på hemmaplan om sju år. Men det hjälpte inte. Stockholm/Åre/Falun/Seguldas OS-ansökan var dödsdömd redan från början.
Italiens bud var bättre. Det är kortare avstånd mellan orterna Milano och Cortina och konceptet tilltalade fler. Det var inget mygel och den här gången var inga IOK-delegater mutade upp över öronen. För de flesta var valet lätt. Italiens närhet slog ett svensk OS-upplägg spritt över halva Sverige och en liten bit av Lettland.
I höstas skrev jag en insändare på DN Åsikt (19/9 2018) om mitt motstånd till ett vinter-OS i Sverige. Fram tills omröstningen i Lausanne i måndags vägde jag för- och nackdelar ur ett objektiv perspektiv. Jag tippade på att Italien skulle ta hem vinterspelen för tredje gången eftersom det saknades flera punkter på Sverige vinter-OS ansökan. Bland annat fick man inga konkreta besked vilka finansiärerna var. Det fanns heller inga ekonomiska garantier från regeringen.
Allt prat om att den svenska ansökan skulle vara en prototyp för framtida vinter-OS med hållbarhet, miljövänliga arrangemang och förnybara arenor föll platt när konceptet innehöll nya anläggningar för längdåkning och skidskytte i Botkyrka när mästerskapsvärdiga arenor för detta redan finns i Falun och Östersund – utan att de skulle användas.
Att både statsminister Stefan Löfvén (S) och utrikesminister Margot Wallström (S) haft presskonferenser och gett regeringens stöd saknade trovärdighet när regeringen endast garanterade säkerheten – i och för sig gigantiska summor det också – men inte eventuella förluster.
Idrottsminister Amanda Lind (MP) menade att ett OS i Sverige skulle inspirera ungdom till idrott (min kommentar till oerfarne ministerns uttalande: urlöjligt). Det gällde möjligen 1912, när Sverige arrangerade sitt enda OS hittills, då levande idrott var det enda sättet att få njuta den, skaffa sig förebilder och låta sig inspireras.
Som minister borde hon veta att dagens ungdom ser sina idoler på sociala medier. De lever sina liv i datorer och telefoner, där allting finns, där deras verklighet existerar, där också all världens idrott finns tillgänglig överallt.
SOK och näringslivet levde i sin egen värld. Man lyssnade inte på varningssignaler, ignorerade den kritik som kommit från så många håll och anmärkningar som gjorts från en mängd experter. Men IOK begrep att korthuset inte skulle hålla.
Att Milano fick spelen, trots att grannstaden Turin arrangerade vinter-OS så sent som 2006, tyder på att den minst olämpliga av två olämpliga konkurrenter fick uppdraget. Men Milano hade ett folkligt stöd och regeringens garantier att stödja sig på.
Stockholm byggde ett korthus som föll ihop. Det är bara konstatera att Stockholm inte är någon vintersportstad.
Risk for Dementia May Increase With Long-Term Use of Certain Medicines
Here’s what research suggests about a class of drugs called anticholinergics, which treat a wide range of ailments, from depression to bladder issues.
The antidepressant Paxil is one of a class of medications, called anticholinergic drugs, which a new study suggests might increase the risk of dementia with long-term use.
Can certain medications increase your risk of dementia?
A new study suggests that people who take a class of common medicines called anticholinergic drugs for several years may be more likely to develop dementia as they age.
This is not a new hypothesis about these drugs, which are used to treat a wide range of conditions from depression to epilepsy to incontinence. But the study, published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine, is large, and it analyzed the use of the medications in more detail and over a longer period of time than many previous studies.
Here’s what is known about the potential link between anticholinergic medicines and dementia:
Which drugs are we talking about?
Anticholinergic drugs include the antipsychotic clozapine; the bladder drug darifenacin (marketed as Enablex); the anti-nausea drug scopolamine; the bronchodilator ipratropium; the muscle relaxant tizanidine; antihistamines such as diphenhydramine (brand names include Benadryl), and antidepressants such as paroxetine (brand names include Paxil).
These medications work by blocking a chemical called acetylcholine, which acts as a neurotransmitter and is involved in many nervous system functions including muscle movements, heart rate, the widening of blood vessels, respiratory functions and muscle contractions in the stomach during digestion.
Older adults are more likely to be prescribed many of these medications, simply because they tend to have more health issues. Some experts say that because people produce less acetylcholine as they age, drugs that inhibit that neurochemical can have a stronger effect on older people.
What does previous research show?
Other studies have also suggested that long-term use of some anticholinergic medications might increase the risk that older people will develop dementia.
For example, a 2015 study by researchers at the University of Washington found that people age 65 and older who took these medications for three years or more had a 54 percent greater risk of developing dementia than people who took the medications for three months or less.
A 2014 review found more than 30 studies that suggested confusion and other symptoms of cognitive decline increase with the amount of anticholinergic medication someone takes.
Dr. Malaz Boustani, director of the Regenstrief Center for Health Innovation and Implementation Science at Indiana University, has created a tool called the anticholinergic cognitive burden scale, which ranks drugs by their suspected effects on cognition. Experts suggest avoiding extended use of drugs with a rating of 3 on the scale — or combinations of drugs that together rate 3 or higher.

What did the new study involve?
The research, conducted by Carol Coupland, a professor of medical statistics in primary care at the University of Nottingham in England, and colleagues, evaluated anticholinergic drugs prescribed to nearly 285,000 people age 55 and older. About 59,000 of them had a diagnosis of dementia. The information came from a database of medical records from patients in more than 1,500 general practices in Britain, the authors said.
Researchers looked at the medical records of patients who were diagnosed with dementia and examined the drugs they had been prescribed from 11 years to one year before their diagnosis. They compared their medications during that time frame with those of people who did not have a diagnosis of dementia. They recorded which of 56 anticholinergic medications people were prescribed, and at what dose and how long. They accounted for factors like body mass index, smoking, alcohol consumption, other medical conditions and use of other medications.
The study found a 50 percent increased risk of dementia among people who used a strong anticholinergic drug daily for about three years within that 10-year period. The association was stronger for antidepressants, bladder drugs, antipsychotics and epilepsy medications, the study said. Researchers did not find any increased risk of dementia with antihistamines, bronchodilators, muscle relaxants or medications for stomach spasms or heart arrhythmias.
The link between anticholinergic drugs was stronger for people diagnosed with dementia before they turned 80 and in people with vascular dementia compared to people with Alzheimer’s disease, the authors reported.
What are the limitations of the research?
An important caveat with this type of study is that it is observational — meaning there is no way to know if the medication use played any direct role in causing dementia. All it shows is that the risk of developing dementia appears to be higher for people who take some of these medications.
It’s also possible, the authors note, some conditions, like depression, may be early harbingers of cognitive decline. It’s possible, for example, that some people taking antidepressants might actually be being treated for what will turn out to be an early symptom of dementia, so it’s their depression that goes along with an increased risk of dementia — not the medicine they are taking to treat it.
What’s the bottom line?
It’s possible, but not proven, that some anticholinergic drugs increase the risk of dementia. If you need long-term treatment for one of the relevant medical conditions, talk to your doctor about other medication options that are not in the anticholinergic class, such as antidepressants like Celexa and Prozac. In many cases, there may be choices.

SpaceX Falcon Heavy’s 3rd Launch

again on Tuesday morning.
SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket is set to blast off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This will be the third trip for the Falcon Heavy. Its 2018 test launch lofted founder Elon Musk’s Tesla roadster into the solar system, and a second mission in Aprilcarried a Saudi communications satellite to orbit.
This time it’s carrying 24 satellites for the Defense Department and other customers, and Mr. Musk called it SpaceX’s “most difficult launch ever.” A successful mission could lead to additional business from the United States government for Falcon Heavy.
