Kelis

Kelis gained fame for her sassy hooks, her colorful personality (and her hair), as well as her unique upper range vocals. Having toured with Moby, U2, and Robyn; Kelis is no stranger to the concert circuit. In support of her most recent album, Kelis tour dates are scheduled periodically throughout 2011.

Kelis garnered heavy rotation on MTV with her single "Caught Out There" in 1999, in which the big-haired Diva screamed "I Hate You So Much Right Now", on the song's hook. The Neptunes produced single made the top ten of the R&B charts and marked the beginning of one of pop music's most eclectic performers. In addition to her own music, Kelis became the go-to chorus singer, lending her vocals to Ol' Dirty Bastard's hit "I Got Your Money" and Busta Rhymes' "I Love My Chick". Kelis' debut album Kaleidoscope became an international hit with the lead-off single and the subsequent singles "Good Stuff" and "Get Along With You". In England, Kelis garnered the BRIT Award for International Breakthrough Act in 2001 and became a hot commodity in Europe.

Although her sophomore album Wanderland was shelved in the US, it managed to find success internationally. This prompted Kelis to leave her label, Virgin, in search of greener pastures. She signed to Neptunes's StarTrek records and produced her signature single "MilkShake" in 2003. The single made her famous for the hook "My Milkshake brings all the boys to yard", which became the phrase of the year. Her third album Tasty was released in the same year and she earned a Grammy nod for Best Urban/Alternative performance. The album was certified gold in the US and she became a sought after collaborator. She went on to record a hit duet, "Not In Love", with Enrique Iglesias in 2003 and she worked with Bjork on a few remix singles. Kelis tour dates were booked as the opening act for Britney Spears' massively successful The Onyx Hotel Tour in 2004.

Kelis returned bigger and better than ever with her fourth release in 2006. The album Kelis Was Here featured the lead-off single "Bossy". Kelis opens the track asserting "You don't have to love me, you don't have to like me, but you will respect me!". The sassy singer went on to marry rapper Nas who collaborated with her on the album as well. It was a commercial and a critical success when it was released in 2006. it debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200, and remains her highest charting album to-date and she was nominated for another Grammy for Best R&B Album in 2007. Kelis finished 2007 by collaborating with Annie Lennox and Cee-Lo on their up-coming projects.

More recently, Kelis released the dance-heavy and euro-beat infused album Flesh Tone in 2010. It featured production by Europe's go-to hit maker David Guetta and will.i.am. The album was not as successful as her previous efforts, but the people embraced the music at her live shows. Kelis tour dates were booked on her first U.S. tour with Robyn entitled All Hearts. Kelis is currently on the road in support of the album and singles are in the process of being released.
