Democrat Richard Blumenthal wins U.S. Senate seat from Connecticut

After 20 years as attorney general, Democrat Richard Blumenthal triumphed to win the Senate seat vacated by longtimer Christopher J. Dodd.
Despite stumbling by exaggerating his Vietnam War military service, Blumenthal prevailed after months of attacks by his opponent, Republican Linda McMahon, a pro wrestling mogul and political novice who poured a record $50 million of her own fortune into the
