Hillary Clinton played pivotal role in campaign to oust Gaddafi

U.S. officials and allies are offering a detailed new defense of U.S. leadership in the airstrikes against Libyan strongman Moammar Gaddafi, crediting Hillary Rodham Clinton's diplomatic efforts with keeping the coalition from falling apart.
