Ford Reports Another Profit, and Sees More Gains Ahead‏

Ford Earns $2.6 Billion Profit, and Projects Improvement in 2011 The Ford Motor Company on Friday said it earned $2.6 billion in the second quarter and expects to have more cash than debt by the end of 2011. It was the fifth consecutive quarterly profit for Ford, whose turn around has been gaining momentum as it has increased sales and market share in the United States. Ford, the only Detroit automaker not to file for bankruptcy protection or receive emergency federal aid, said it expects to be profitable in the second half of this year and deliver even stronger results in 2011. It said profits in the secondhalf of 2010 would be less than the $4.7 billion it earned inthe first half, however, due to seasonal changes in demand and new product introductions.
