Perfidious Cameron - lion or mouse?


Further west, European leaders are waking up to some new political realities and old economic problems. Newspapers from Paris to Berlin are crowing about "David Cameron Home Alone", "Bye-bye Britain" or some version of the perfidious Albion. The markets are muttering that the new money and new rules still aren't enough to save the euro from itself.
Here, the papers are wondering whether Cameron is a lion or a mouse? The City is trying to work out whether Britain's veto will indeed protect it from the regulatory tentacles of Brussels or whether we are in for an era of financial revenge?
We talk to Peter Altmaier, one of Germany's leading politicians and a close ally of Europe's new "Eiserne Frau" (Iron Lady to you and me) about whether the Germans really want Britain to opt out of the EU for good.
