KE4IQB & KB2GSD (Walter Cronkite)

Ännu en skicklig och framgångsrik sändaramatör.

"Charles Frank Bolden, Jr., who used to hold the Amateur Radio callsign KE4IQB, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Wednesday as the twelfth administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
Charles KE4IQB was an active participant in the the Space Amateur Radio Experiment, known as SAREX, and commanded Shuttle missions STS-45 and STS-60.
As administrator, Bolden will lead the NASA team and manage its resources to advance the agency's missions and goals.
"It is an honor to have been nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the Senate to lead this great NASA team," Bolden said."/ Southgate Amateur Radio Club.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Silent key (key = telegraferingsnyckel):
The well-known, former US TV news anchor Walter Cronkite has died after a long illness. He was 92.
Cronkite presented the evening news programme for CBS from 1962 to 1981, helping the programme to become the most watched bulletin in the US. He was known to millions of Americans as "the most trusted man in America".
However Walter, who famously ended every broadcast with the words "and that's the way it is", was also well-known within the amateur radio community, holding the callsign KB2GSD.
A few years ago, he used his exceptional broadcasting talents to present and narrate this excellent amateur radio promotional video, which was produced for the ARRL.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
