Greta Garbo is not the greatest Swede

This story notes that that film director Ingmar Bergman, actress Greta Garbo, author Astrid Lindgren, singer Birgit Nilsson, former UN general-secretary Dag Hammerskjoeld and poet Evert Taube are to be honoured by the Bank of Sweden, with their faces adoring new 200-Kroner bank notes.

Curiously absent from this list is one of Sweden's greatest icons, Raoul Wallenberg. At great personal risk, he saved many thousands of Hungarian Jews from certain death. He was honoured with both an American and Israeli citizenship in 1981 and a Canadian citizenship in 1985.

Raoul Wallenberg also saved my wife Suzie and her parents.

Att Raoul Wallenberg skulle vara den störste svensken håller jag inte med om.
Inte heller Greta Garbo, som dock, i motsats till Wallenberg, kan anses vara en god aspirant till titeln "Mest berömde svensk".
