‘Kinky Boots’ Wins Tony for Best Musical

“Kinky Boots,” with songs by Cyndi Lauper, won six Tony Awards at the 2013 ceremony on Sunday, including best musical, best score and best leading man.
Christopher Durang’s comedy “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” won the Tony for best play.
Cicely Tyson, 88, won the honors for best leading actress in a play for the revival of “The Trip to Bountiful,” that show’s only Tony win.
Tracy Letts won his first Tony for acting, winning best actor in a play, for his role in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?,” beating out Nathan Lane, Tom Hanks, David Hyde Pierce and Tom Sturridge.
